STUDIO VISION

Nicholas Potts Studio is an architecture and interior design practice based out of Washington, D.C. known for its skillful synthesis of architectural history with contemporary refinement. Founded by architect Nicholas Potts, the studio creates environments that are artistically rich yet deeply attuned to their historical and cultural contexts. With a background rooted in historical research, Potts approaches each project with an expansive view of architecture that engages with history, beauty, and craft, bringing together a fresh thinking about the past with a lush sense of materials. The results are environments that feel at once grounded and unexpected, layered with detail and imbued with a quiet rigor. The studio’s work has been published widely in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Domino and Dwell, among others. Every project is seen as a unique opportunity to learn something new, using the past to lend texture—not nostalgia—to the present and conjures spaces that are less about statement than about discovery, where beauty is not just seen, but felt.
